HOLLAND - OISTERWIJK

After going to bed late I woke up about midday & felt pretty good so maybe jet lag was not going to be an issue. After breakfast (which I guess was really lunch) we drove to Oisterwijk (try & say that correctly!) & hired a bike for four. Everyone rides bikes here which could be why they are not all overweight like many countries in the western world but they don't have to wear helmets which seems very unsafe. I have seen people riding around without a helmet, a toddler on the back & a baby in the front - it's scary stuff! Ingrid & I swapped places on the bike so I could be the driver. It was good practice for my trip across the States later in the year with Nicola. Wrong side of the car (sorry bike), wrong side of the road, give way to the right. It did my head in!
Afterwards we had a drink & then went home for a typical Dutch meal called Zuurkool. Which is ummmmm ...........something like vinegar cabbage & mince meat topped with potato & sour cream (baked in the oven) & Rookworst. What's that? Some kind of smoked sausage. Very nice actually despite the weird names.
