I can't take credit for everything that is being done in the new apartment. We have six of Amanda's friends (who have a program in an Orphanage in another part of China) come to stay for a few days to help out. Amanda calls them her slave labour! Here is a photo of Chrissy & one of Mikey & Michael (enough already with the Michaels - they are everywhere!!!!!!!!!!). We also have Julie, Melissa, Tim & baby Seth (& what a good baby he is while his Mum & Dad are painting).
If you are wondering about the really ugly bars on the windows - well, they are everywhere. The Chinese have a fear of being robbed so they put burglar bars on the inside of the windows. Very unattractive ones - although I'm not sure you can actually get nice looking ones. They certainly seem to do the job of keeping people out. Also keeping people in. Tough titties if there is a fire. The Chinese don't seem to have a problem burning to death but there is no way they are going to let anyone rob them!
