NEVADA - LAS VEGAS

I have finally made it over to the west coast.
Las Vegas.
Sin City.
Very American (naturally, seen as that's where I am).
Belinda got here the day before me and tried to get over her jet lag. I got to the airport and was amazed and slightly appalled that even before you get to baggage claim there are pokies! I mean really! Someone actually thought this was a good idea???????????
Anyhoo Belinda had an Autocad conference in Vegas which meant we got to stay at THEhotel (that's not a typo, it's how they write it) which is at the Mandalay Bay Casino. And flash it is. How do I know this? Because you can take the coat hangers out of the closet. And you have to pay for the internet (although it was free in the casino part of the complex thank goodness). You even had to pay to use the gym because it was located in the spa area. Needless to say I didn't do any exercise because I draw the line at having to pay $20 to use the treadmill.
So apart from sleeping in, watching re-runs of Charmed and Friends, what else did I do while Belle was at the conference?
Ummmm......................well. Not much really. Oh hang on, yes I did. I researched hotels for the next part of our trip (and booked them), sussed out rentals car (and booked one) and booked and picked up our tickets to see KA - Cirque Du Soleil. We went to a late night show and it was absolutely amazing, fantastic, incredible. It's one of those things that you really can't describe - you need to see it.
I was also able to go to the functions with Belinda. And Paul A. you will be happy to know that as well as enjoying some great food we managed to bag ourselves some nice freebies!
I guess you are wondering how much money I spent in the casino.
A whole $2. Big spender aren't I? Belle didn't spend much more. I just don't see the attraction of putting money into a machine and pressing buttons until it's all gone. I'm not complaining though. It's a good thing.
The other really exciting thing I did was have a bath in the huge tub. It was lovely. My fingers and toes went all pruney I was in there that long. And while relaxing in the bubbles I watched Friends on the little flatscreen t.v.
I think they are must in all bathrooms.
