NEW JERSEY TO WASHINGTON

Today Holly and I started our road trip. We went to the supermarket to get some healthy car snacks (rolls and fillings for lunch plus carrots/hummus and pretzels) as we want to lose some of our camp weight on the trip.
Which, according to Megz and Tracy G, is definitely a possibility.
We are more kind of hoping for definitely.
We drove to Washington and as we waited at reception to check in - who should walk in?
Toby.
Which was handy as he was meant to meet up with us at some point.
He had already been in D.C. for a day or so, so he hung out in the room and waited for Rob to get there while Holly and I went out to check out some touristy stuff.
We went to the Smithsonian Museum which is actually a whole bunch of building housing different things. We didn't have time for them all so went into the Museum of American History. Just this one building is huge and we were there for a few hours and didn't get to see the whole thing. You'd need days to go through all the buildings.
After that we met the boys at Dupont Circle for dinner.
After much debate - and a lot of walking up and down the street - we decided on an exciting meal at Subway. And being the frugal travellers that we are we got a footlong so we could have the other half for breakfast tomorrow.
We then decided to walk back to the hotel as Toby said it would only take 20 minutes.
Over an hour later we make it back.
This could be why Toby is not in charge.
This is a photo of outside the museum, Holly inside pretending to be the President and me with Capitol Hill in the background.
