I know I went to Philadelphia with my friend Ruthie and her family but I happened to mention to the boys and Holly that the Philadelphia Museum of Art is where Sylvester Stallone runs up the steps in "Rocky".
And that a lot of tourists go there to do that.
Well that was it.
That's what they wanted to do.
Which is why we drove all day yesterday to get here last night so we could do just that this morning.
Which is exactly what we did. We got up early and managed to get a park close by the museum. First we had a photo in front of the statue from the movie and then we did the big run up the stairs and filmed it. Unfortunately Holly did something wrong when I did my run and I ended up having to do it three times before she got it.
It was the most exercise I have done in ages. Good though, as I feel my waistline expanding at an alarming rate. A road trip (while good fun) is not great for good eating habits. I haven't had a piece of fruit (until this morning) for about 2 weeks.
And it shows.
We have been to McDonalds waaaaaay to much.
Unfortunately it's not easy to get to a supermarket on a road trip or keep that kind of food in the car. When you have a long day on the road, then believe me - a happy meal is your friend.
Anyway the first photo is me outside the Benjamin Franklin post office (stopped by to mail a card), the second is a view from the top of the museum steps, the third is me in front of the Rocky statue (pretty obvious that one) and the last is the view from our hotel room. Wet and miserable, although it stopped long enough for our epic run up the steps.
