HOLLAND - EINDHOVEN

Holland kind of reminds me of England in the way that they have villages & most of the houses are terraced, on small blocks of land, usually 2 storey, setback close to the street front & pretty much all the same style & floor plan (or variations on a theme). Ingrid's house is actually 3 storey (thanks to an extension a few years ago) but only has one bathroom, one living area & a single carport. The block is maybe approx. 240-250sqm & the backyard is compact. But what a lovely one it is. I guess the good thing about a small yard is you can set it up really well & easily maintain it (I think this is the size yard you would love Sarah. Plenty of room for a cat & a sun lounge – what with all that sun baking you do!)
Well she may have a small back yard but Ingrid has a HUGE dog. It's a Newfoundland called Sam & he is the size of a small horse. If you thought Nicole & Pete's dog Arnie was big well...........well you were right actually. But Sam is bigger! And sloberier (don't think that's a word actually). Belinda you would love him! He has big slobbery jowls & pray you are not standing next to him when he shakes his head (it's a slobber sun shower) . Or even have him brush past you or come up to you for attention (it's a slobber kiss all over your clothes).
I have gone from baby vomit (although lets face it Julia kept everything down – even when it started to come back up) & dirty nappies to doggy slime!
But he is a beautiful natured dog & like all of them he just wants attention, food, exercise, food, attention, food............................
I have put in some photos of Sam with Ingrid's daughters to try & give an idea of his size but he is so much bigger in real life than the photos.
You can also see how lovely Ingrid's back yard is.
