VERMONT - BURLINGTON

It’s my day off again!
Woo hoo!
After how I felt yesterday I am certainly ready for it. We (myself, Amy, Tim, Chris, Holly, Bec, Joey and Jacob - who was a ring in) set off for Burlington. Via Price Chopper (the supermarket in Rutland) to stock up on the usual stuff.
Bug spray
Chocolate
Tissues
Chocolate
Snacks
Chocolate
You get the picture.
We also stopped off at Brandon to get some lunch from our fav sandwich place (the photo of the yellow building & the one of the group of us). It took longer to get to Burlington than we thought (plus we were in the van that is really temperamental to start - Jed thinks it’s just me but the list of people having trouble with it is growing) so by the time we got there it was almost 4pm. Our day off doesn’t actually start until 11.45, so that and the fact we went a few places first (not to mention some questionable directions by Chris which also happened on the way home) meant we got there late. We split up once we were there and Amy, Holly and I went clothes shopping. Amazingly enough I bought a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and a dress.
A dress!!!!!!
Incredible, I know (Mum you would be proud of me).
There was also a Starbucks so I enjoyed a delicious caramel/café latte.
Note to America - percolate coffee is blah! At the very least have some options. The coffee aisle in the supermarket needs some serious attention. You are missing out on so much!
Once back in Rutland Amy and I went to the movies to see “My Sister’s Keeper” - we had both read the book and wanted to see how it transferred to the big screen. We knew it would be sad and Amy assured me that she NEVER cries in movies.
Well now she does!
I cried nearly as much as when I saw “The Bucket List” with Joyce.
We were still crying afterwards in the van. There were some father/daughter moments that were really moving. I miss my Dad sooooo much.
It wasn’t a great look turning up to the pub to meet the others (the pub photo is Bec, Holly and Tim) with a red nose and eyes and blotchy face from crying. Amy looked fine but the same can’t be said for me.
Ever noticed in the movies how so many people look beautiful when they cry?
Well that ain’t me!
