VERMONT - PITTSFORD

On Saturday we spent most of the day getting all the last minute things ready for the campers to arrive the next morning. For cabin 6 that actually meant getting the roof finished & the cabin dried out & habitable.
Once we were done we went into town to a bit of shopping & then out to dinner at a place called Applebees (two group photos). Jenni had been having trouble with her wisdom tooth (I think she has gone out in sympathy with Fila) & towards the end of dinner it got unbearable. So we finished up, paid & jumped in the cars to get back. It wasn’t until we were all the way back to camp that we realized that we had left Toby behind. He was trying to pay by credit card (which didn’t work) & we had raced off to get Jenni back & not noticed that he wasn’t in the van. Our reasons (apart from Jenni) were that he had only been here a few days & weren’t actually used to having him around (very bad reason I know) & people had been changing cars so it was hard to know who was where. Which is why it is very important to follow the camp rule of “you must come home in the van you left in”.
So there was poor Toby in town, without a ride & unable to pay.
By the time he had managed to call camp we had already realized & someone had driven back to get him. While all this was going on Jenni’s tooth had become so painful that I drove her to emergency to get some painkillers (with the lovely Amy coming to keep us company).
What an exciting day!
