Today was my day off and only Amy and I had picked this day and this time. Which was great as we hadn’t spent that much time together since the kids got here and there were only two of us we didn’t have to try and agree upon where to go with a whole bunch of people. The camp is really great as they let you use a car for the day. Today we had the manual. I’m quite comfortable now driving on the wrong side of the road in the wrong side of the car (it wasn’t as difficult as people had made out it would be) but changing gears with your right hand (the feet are all the same - luckily as I don’t know that I could have done it otherwise) was really a bizarre feeling. But we managed not to kill ourselves or damage the car which was good.
We left just before 12 and drove to Brandon to have some lunch and a look around (the few) shops there. Then we went to Branbury beach (which is not really a beach but grass and a little bit of a sandy type substance in front of a beautiful lake) which is in Branbury State Park. We lazed around there for most of the afternoon, talking, sun baking and going in the water (only walking in as it was kind of kind even though it was a hot day). Then we drove back to Brandon to our favorite ice cream parlour (more panda paws and cookie dough) and after that drove to Rutland to do a bit of shopping. I bought a cheap yoga mat while Amy got something like 2 pairs of shoes, 2 tops, a pair of shorts and a dress. Naturally I didn’t get anything despite trying on heaps of stuff and Amy being my “Trinny and Susannah”.
After that we went back to Applebees for dinner (Darcey says we need to branch out a bit so we need to find out where some good places are) and then to the movies to see “The Proposal”.
We had a great, relaxing, girly day!!!!!!!!!
